Program Description

Protect historical preservation safeguards Rev. Dr. Frederick D. Reese’s legacy by archiving artifacts, sharing stories, hosting tours, and preserving his historic home. Through our Mission to the Churches, we teach how Rev. Dr. F. D. Reese and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.demonstrated that the church was the spiritual cornerstone of the Civil Rights Movement.
The Living Legacy Archive & Heritage Project will preserve the life, leadership, and legacy of Rev. Reese, who bravely fought for freedom during one of the most impactful movements our nation has ever seen.
We will preserve historical documents, photos, stories, and artifacts that ensure future generations know what it took -- faith and sacrifice -- to advance the Civil Rights Movement.
We are also charged with protecting and preserving Rev. Dr. F. D. Reese's historic home and expanding educational tours and heritage experiences that connect visitors to this important story.
Through Mission to the Churches, we educate on how Rev. Dr. F. D. Reese and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led the Civil Rights Movement by showing the church was the spiritual driving force behind the movement.
